Donate
Every donation over $2 is tax-deductible
Amazing Greys receives no funding from the greyhound racing industry and donations from generous members of the public are crucial to the care of our greyhounds.
If you require a receipt for your donation, please either donate through this link or alternatively, contact us and we will provide you with one.
Can you commit to a monthly donation?
Amazing Greys relies entirely on donations from our supporters to pay for each greyhound’s medical needs, home essentials and behavioural rehabilitation. Without your support, we cannot get these hounds into homes.
If you can commit to a monthly donation to Amazing Greys, click the Paypal donate button below and check the box next to the option “Make this a monthly donation”.

How we use our donations
Vet bills
Oh boy, do we have huge vet bills. All our greyhound get de-sexed, C5 vaccinated, microchipped, dental care, worm and flea treatment.
Some ex-racing greyhounds have also mysterious and old injuries: broken bones, muscle tears, tendon injuries. Some of these have not been attended to when they occurred and have sort of healed, but not properly. Intermittent lameness is often the result, and vet trips for pain relief are necessary. We also deal with lots of corns in the sensitive toe pads of our greyhounds, as well as autoimmune diseases like Pannus.
Essentials
Every greyhound gets their own bag of essentials. When a greyhound arrives in foster care, they have nothing but a cheap plastic collar fastened tight around their neck.
We buy things like a collar, lead, harness, bed, fleece coat for winter, bowls, toys and treats for the new arrival to settle into fostercare, and these become their belongings when it is time to move into their forever home. We don’t use martingale collars, halti head collars or choke chains, and we promote the use of non-aversive equipment, such as comfortable harnesses for our greyhounds
Learning
The typical racing greyhound does not learn much about the world outside of racing kennels.
Most of our greyhounds are completely new to pet life. New sights, sounds and smells can be scary at first, and skills such as loose lead walking, polite interactions with other dogs and being happy to be home alone for a short time need to be learned. Additionally, the humans who care for our greyhounds often need to learn how to speak ‘dog’. Our experienced positive reinforcement trainers make learning fun for both hounds and human and are worth every dollar.
